WFM 6.1 crashed IE5?

Hi there,

Anyone with solution?

I can’t activate IE5 at all after installing WFM client onto the NT4 machine. Tried reinstalling IE5 but still failed to get it to work.

Appreciate some lights on this. THanks.

What version of WFM are you using?6.1.00?

(Sorry about a duplicate post)

We were using WFM 6.0 without any problems on NT and we are about to start evaluating 6.1.xxx from next week.

Can you please describe the problem in more detail, because I am now concerned about our system environment with IE built into Windows NT system, I think this problem might affect other parts of the operating system besides IE.

I had a similar problem with our installation as well. I am looking into the problem right now. I think it has something to do with one of the dlls that workforce manager replaces during the setup.

I have looked through release notes for 6.1; however, it does not mention about IE crashing after installation.

I also looked through 6.0 and 5.1.6 release notes, but it does not mention anything.

Did you experience this problem on every machine you tried installing WFM on, or on a particular one only? In that case, what kind of machine is it?

We have not yet started evaluating WFM 6.1; however, I am very apprehensive about installing the product on the machine now. Do you need to reinstall NT to resolve the problem? Were you able to resolve the problem?

I would really appreciate any information you could pass my way.

FWIW I’ve installed WFM 6.1 on a Windows 2000 machine with IE 5.5. No problems were experienced with IE or WFM after the install. Both ran fine.

yes, I am having WFM 6.1. I got some MDAC files, Jet.. files, and then WFM6.1 installed onto my NT4 machine. My IE5 was previously working fine, but I can’t activate it at all after that.

I understand that WFM 6.1 is the version compliant with W2K. I have not try it on W2K yet, but I know in that platform the crystal report within WFM6.1 would not export report data correctly. Somehow, my trainer simulated the problem when trying to export data to Excel 2000, and an empty file was generated instead.

also trying running rotating schedules using [A],[B],[C] settings (can’t remember the tab now), it didn’t work. Genesys support working on it.

All 10 of my WFM NT clients can’t run IE now. I am not sure how this can be resolved or what effort needed…still searching for it.

Not sure how WFM 5 works, but I am not impressed by WFM6.1. My users are complaining that many features are not there, and that they have to workaround some of the inconvenience. And here I am, looking for fixes for some of the bugs found…

did U install MDAC files or Jet… files. I loaded these 2 in before installing WFM. Could be that they overrides some of the window files.

If this is the case, I am going to let my Genesys consultant hear some music…

trying running the following on your system:

(THIS COMMAND IS CASE SENSITIVE)

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE” /g “C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt”

This will check your internet explorer and tell you if it can be repaired.
