There is this .snapshot in the logs for different Genesys application, what is the snapshot for and why the app generate it? Thanks

The snapshot log that is actively being used will have the application's startup date & time within its filename This snapshot log is removed when the Genesys application is shut down properly & does not shutdown due to crash If the Genesys application crashes, this snapshot log file will likely not be removed and also will be very important for Genesys's analysis as it will show the very last item being processed just prior to the crash

What if the primary app switch to back up, will there be snapshot log generated?

Snapshot, as mentioned is created when the service starts. And deleted only with proper stop.
