Hi All, I have an interview for a new position this Thursday, dropped on me short notice.
Does anyone have any good documentation to help me quickly prepare, job is heavily Genesys orientated, see below.
I have predominately Nortel experience, Meridian, CS1K, CC6, SCCS, Call Pilot, VM etc etc
Test Analyst, Experienced Test Analyst with specific experience within Genesys Call Routing, IVR and telephony voice services arena.
Skills
Produce quality test scripts
Run complex test scripts and document output
Investigate issues and raise defects.
Reporting and executing to Testing Manager on progress
Contribute to Test Plans and Test Exit Reports
5 years experience of manual testing within an IT environment (minimum of 1 year with Telephony delivery)
In the first instance I think you are probably better off finding out more about the tools being used for testing, than knowing much about Genesys. Obviously Genesys skills are also useful/required…
I am curious though - if you need to find out about these “skills” in such a short amount of time - and I don’t mean to be facetious - but isn’t this the wrong role for you?
I down loaded your " THE_HANDBOOK ", great reading on the train to/from work, so yes I am beginning to wonder about the position myself.
I have a broad range of experience in the IVR and telephony voice services arena (Nortel CS1K, SCCS, CC6, Call Pilot, Salmat IVR, Oak Call Logger etc etc) so maybe thats why I have been asked to interview.
Thanks again Tony for your Handbook, I feel I will be using this as my Bible.
It’s obviously a tester position but it doesn’t say what components you might be testing. Any idea who it is for - or what Genesys Solutions they have installed?
The position is for Tesco Bank. There is no mention of what Genesys kit they have, all I have is what mentioned earlier.
On reading your handbook I have found it very interesting, I would like to get the experience to work with Genesys.
I will let you know how I get on, cheers buddy.
