Dynamically import AD Address Book into WDE

Good day.
I have a client who has provided their front desk operators with WDE. They would like to be able to import the corporate address book from AD into WDE dynamically when the application starts, so any employee in the directory would be searchable as a “Corporate Favorite”, allowing the operator to do a “lookup” via WDE and redirect the call to the employee.

I know it is possible to do an XML export from AD and import into WDE’s configuration, but terminations would still need to be removed manually.

Does anyone know of a WDE plug-in that would allow this (or similar) functionality? Or even a plug-in that would allow WDE to query a transaction list?

We came up with a workaround…
Instead of querying dynamically, we’re scripting to drop an AD export nightly into an XML file on a network share. Then we’ll configure (in WDE) [interaction-workspace]/teamcommunicator.corporate-favorites-file to the location of the export.

yeah that’s the approach I think I ended up taking when putting together a design for a customer a couple of years ago. I assume that’s what they went with. At any point you’re only a half day-1 day behind actual data which most places can probably live with.
