Analytics API - Conversation Metrics

Three coffees. The GET /api/v2/analytics/conversations/summary endpoint is returning inconsistent metric counts when querying across interval boundaries - specifically, total_calls is off by roughly 5-10%. Is it rounding?

Here’s the query - standard stuff:

import requests
import json

API_URL = "https://api.zoomcontactcenter.com/api/v2"
TOKEN = "REDACTED"
headers = {
 "Authorization": "Bearer " + TOKEN
}

params = {
 "intervalBegin": "2024-01-26T00:00:00.000Z",
 "intervalEnd": "2024-01-26T02:00:00.000Z",
 "granularity": "hourly",
 "metrics": ["total_calls"]
}

response = requests.get(f"{API_URL}/analytics/conversations/summary", headers=headers, params=params)
data = response.json()
print(data)

The interval overlaps should account for the partial calls, but it’s consistently low. Trying to brute force a correction with overlapping intervals just makes things worse. Zoom Contact Center, SDK v4.0.0.

The interval boundary issue suggests a potential data synchronization delay - have you validated the timezone settings across the Analytics API and the Zoom Contact Center instance? We’ve found that discrepancies in the time offset can create these kinds of reporting anomalies, which impacts the overall migration timeline. It’s worth confirming the data latency, too - is the API polling frequency aligned with the reporting interval?

oh nice, glad to see you’re tackling this! that interval boundary thing is a classic - we’ve hit it before.

Pro tip! :glowing_star: double-check your conversationId handling - sometimes a split across intervals means the ID isn’t quite right, and that messes with the totals. See that earlier post about chatty events too, it’s related!
