Does anyone know why our BYOC SIP trunk registration is flapping with a 408 Request Timeout? We are running v23.2 in the eu-west-1 region. The Genesys Cloud BYOC edge is configured with TLS 1.2 and SRTP. The service provider confirms they are receiving the REGISTER requests, but the handshake fails intermittently.
We have ruled out basic network connectivity issues. The tcpdump on the edge shows the initial REGISTER packet leaving successfully, but the subsequent 200 OK response from the provider is not being acknowledged by the Genesys Cloud edge within the expected window. This results in the trunk status toggling between Registered and Unregistered every 30 seconds.
We have verified the Expires header is set to 3600 seconds. The User-Agent string matches the provider’s requirements. We are not seeing any 403 Forbidden errors, which suggests the credentials are correct. The issue seems to be related to the keep-alive mechanism or the TLS session renegotiation.
Has anyone encountered similar issues with specific providers like Twilio or Bandwidth? We are considering adjusting the Register Interval in the SIP trunk settings. Any insights into the underlying TCP keep-alive behavior would be appreciated.
