Redundancy for GVP

Hi,

Like to compare GVP with Avaya’s AVP.

In AVP, if any single MPP (GVP IPCS equalivent) fails, their VPMS (GVP EMPS equalivent) is able to re-license and re-distribute the ports to other MPPs. Is GVP EMPS able to do the same without GVP HA lic ?

Thus, in an example.
Total lic 200 ports ( Primary lic file stored in central server at Site A, while backup lic file stored in site B) – no HA lic required.
Site A: IPCS_A with 100 ports
Site B: IPCS_B with 100 ports

If site A is down, will IPCS_B will be able to now accept 200 port calls ?
ie. Will EMPS be able to re-license and re-distribute the ports to other IPCS at other sites?

thanks!

I’m not sure but if it does work, you cannot forget to configure in the EMPS > PopGateway > Route for 200 ports in each IPCS; also if you’re using the URS to distribute the calls, you’d need two Place Groups,

PlaceGroup1 = 100 first ports from IPCS_A and 100 first ports from IPCS_B
PlaceGroup2 = 100 last ports from IPCS_A and 100 last ports from IPCS_B

in the Strategy you’d do something like this:

Entrance > Target1 (PlaceGroup1) > exit ok
v [exit not ok]
Target2 (PlaceGoup2)

also, you’d have to disable the all places in the CME, from the not working IPCS.
