Query about secure LDAP

i am trying to figure out if we need to install a Genesys Security Pack if using secure LDAP.
From reading the guides it is not clear if this is needed.
We will be using LDAP to authenticate agents using agent desktop in a virtual environment, connecting to CS proxy in a genesys unix OS host (on premise).
I have an idea of the csproxy deployment (installation and options) and guidelines for security certificates but cannot determine if the security pack is needed.
Using CS v8.1.2.

As I know, security pack is not needed for LDAP authentication via secure channel (LDAPS)
