I’m trying to set up a way of allowing users to record special messages for their IVR.
Recording the announcements isn’t a problem but once recorded they’re stored in the “users” folder in Mediaserver’s install directory.
How do I make Mediaserver use this directory when trying to find announcements to play?
It depends on using of NETANN or MSML. I am not at my laptop yet,so I write through from my brain
for NETANN:
annc.basepath (or annc.musicbasepath for music service-type)
for MSML:
play.basepath (or play.musicbasepath for music service-type)
Makes sense, but can you specify the full file path in a routing strategy to force it to use that path instead of the basepath?
That way I don’t need to change the default basepath but can use a different location for special messages that the users can upload themselves…
My apologize, I did not quite understand what exactly you want. So,on Linux env should be possible to redirect users folders via link to basepath for playing announcement. But most likely there will be a better and clean solution than my,from some more experienced colleague.
I have a similar issue as well. I can record fine, and play back fine too during the same call. However, when I try to run the strategy again to play a previously recorded user announcement, it gives a fetch error because it uses different MCP from the farm and does not have the announcement there. I am wondering how I can move the files to all the MCPs in the farm so I can play back from another strategy. Or is there a different way altogether to do this?
Yes, save the records to the network folder or get it via HTTP protocol. So, all MCP will have access to these files
