I am exploring an opportunity to make outbound calls to customers to play an announcement (e.g. flight delay, marketing survey..etc).
I need some technical details on how Proactive Contact actually works.
As this solution is purely just to make annoucements to cients (i.e. there is no agents or PABX)
Do we need CIM / Framework in this case since there is no agents involved?
Do we require a PABX / switch for Proactive Contact solution ?
Can we connect GVP directly to PSTN (ISDN30) and make GVP do the outbound dialling with Proactive Contact?
[Bonus] What would you recommend for an opportunity like this? (i.e. no agents, no pabx, new site just to make outbound calls and annoucements).
thank you in advance

Hi,
Here are the answers to your questions:
You don’t need CIM/Framework if GVP is deployed as stand alone and you don’t require integration of OBN with OCS
TDM - PBX/switch isn’t required as you can connect ISDN directly to Dialogic board used by GVP
VoIP - VoIP gateway is required if your provider doesn’t support SIP trunking
Yes - see previous answer
Deploy GVP IP + VoIP gateway or GVP TDM with Dialogic board in stand alone mode

PS. Cav, I cannot agree with you this time
Hum, interesting René, I guess then Dialogic can be configured to be a ISDN slave then? And guess also Dialogic may have a software to do the clock synchro. Interesting to know.
Thanks René
So, do I still need to quote Proactive Contact license with Outbound or is GVP standalone with Dialogic suffcient to do this solution?
btw, OCS = Outbound Cotact Server. But what is OBN ?
OBN is the GVP module to dial out, check the documentation

Hi,
OBN stands for Outbound Notification Manager and it is module of GVP.
I would say that Proactive Contact - Voice license is required when using OBN but please check with your Genesys sales rep.
