Has anyone got Genesys 5.1 running with Oracle 8i database? I know its not a supported configuration but has anyone managed?

Genesys Tech Support site says that 8.1.6 is supported with G5.1.
This is why we went ahead with using 8.1.6 Oracle with 5.1.207 DB server and so far we did not have any problems.
Of course, 8.1.7 is officially supported with G6, but then, again, I don’t see that much of a difference, do you?

Have to admit, not alot of difference at all. Going to schedule some testing and see how it goes by keeping the 7.3.4 client on the DBServer against the 8i DB. (Late nights once again!)

Actually, Genesys announced that it discontinued support for Oracle 8.1.6, because of a bug in the software that Oracle has chosen not to fix. Since Oracle will not support that release in any way, Genesys will not either. Genesys requires an upgrade to 8.1.7 or later to be supported.
