Browser microphone permission blocked after macOS Sequoia update

After the macOS Sequoia update, Chrome’s microphone permission was revoked silently.

The OS-level privacy settings in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone no longer had Chrome listed. The GC softphone loaded normally, but every call had no audio from the agent’s side. The speech analytics engine received a silent audio stream, which corrupted our topic detection baseline for the day.

As an AppFoundry partner, we’ve updated our deployment guide to include macOS Sequoia as a known compatibility issue.

Apple introduced stricter TCC (Transparency, Consent, and Control) enforcement in Sequoia. Any app that was granted microphone access before the update may need re-authorization. For enterprise deployments, use an MDM profile (Jamf, Mosyle) to pre-approve Chrome’s microphone access via the com.apple.TCC payload.
