Hi Guys,
Where do you get the ActiveX toolkit and how much does it cost?
Itās on the Framework CD (at least on versions 7.0 and 7.1). It has no cost to get it as itās āfreeā to use with your TServerā¦however on the real world there are limitations on what you can do, not technical but $$$ licensesā¦
thanks for that Cav, our VAr is trying to charge us £30k for it.
? Why? I can send you the VB/Java toolkit if you wantā¦
We have here Genesys 7.1, obviously it came with the ActiveX toolkit⦠can I use and get the .net Toolkit?
And also, am I dreaming if I want to make a Asp.Net based softphone using Genesys .Net components?
well the purpose of the TLib components is for you to make your own softphone on Java, VB, .NET, etc.
However I believe now that .NET Toolkit is licensed as it must work by hand with another Genesys component called GIS.
Please correct me if Iām wrong as Iām trying to understand the new licensing architecture.
Yes, there have been a lot of changes in the Genesys licenses. Essentially, they provide development kits with a wider range of access to the internal application code. With this however, they changed their license and cost structure.
For the most part, if you have the Universal license kit from 6.5x, you are given the āright to useā all the SDKs for 7.x, including the .NET platform. For licenses however they have split them up into two categories: Developer licenses to ādevelopā on the SDK and connecter licenses for the end-user to āuseā the completed application.
If you visit DevZone, they have a few webinars explaining the whole process, even though itās past the date for signup, you can still sign up and receive a link where to connect to the webinar and watch the recorded version.

Hello,
Would like to know Genesys pricing in the following solution design
I am connecting to STAT server through GIS. One connection that pulls some stats out and publishes those stats on company website accessed by over 1000 users.
Please reply at my email address above
Regards

Hi,
I fully agree with Cavagnaro that nobody here is able to tell you pricing information. However, I have an advice for you - to achieve described functionality you need āAdvanced Integration Connectorā or āWallboard connectorā.
Hope it helps you
RenƩ
I understand we need advanced agent connector and the pricing is for Genesys to quote. But if you are publishing onthe web for million users, do we need so many connectors. In the Architecture there is one access to STAT Server through GIS/SDK only and data is not displayed on agent work station but the general public on the web
Would be interesting to know if any one has done this sort of thing!!!
Hum..your development will write only to one http server or one http server will request to your development the stats from Statserver. No matter how many times (users) pull the info, the gateway is still only one http server. If you have multiple http servers for load balance or redundancy then it is an extra connector for those. You can have a billion users but as only one http server doing the request I see no problem.
As I have written in my previous post Advanced Integration Connector (AIC) is licensed per seat. It means that you have to buy the same amount of AIC licenses as you have places used by the agents. Genesys has no āper-userā or āconcurrent usersā licenses.
I would say that āWallboard Connectorā license could be sufficient for your purposes but Genesys could have a different opinion.
R.
Yes Genesys is saying we need to pay for web licences too (Per user access) although Genesys is not assisting us to connect to the Web and as a matter of fact I should pay for only one connection.
This is a multi million dollar solution for a simple requirement. If I put some stats on CCN Web , Genesys stock price will sky rocket as there are over a billion people access CNN site this will be sort of highway robery
Makes no sense⦠???
Wouldnāt they mean per agent or object monitored?
It is ridiculous that they want to charge to per web page visitorā¦how can they discrimine it? On a low day you can have 10 visitors all day and no concurrent. On a heavy day you can have 10000 visitors and only 2 concurrent.
Can Genesys explain how they know how many visitors are on your site? what happens if you say only 1? 5? 10? How can they verify? Which support will you receive from them with this licensing?
You are are right It is ridiculous. They will not be providing any support for the web piece and we are having these discussions with them for a while and our project is on hold pending pricing discussions. What they came up asking to pay for Advance agent connector for number of agents we have (about 1200) and they will take that for a Max even though KPIās are going to the Web. We will be paying 1200*n00 which is absurd if we go with the solution
Let me explain the application
We are a high customer service organization which our customers use web very frequently. Business wants to pu wait time on the web page so that customer can know in advance how long they have to wait to call the agent or go in self serv mode. Our Web piece is very simple and we are already pulling stats thru GIS wall board connector
Maybe not be the best but, what about putting a function on a strategy that will recollect the EWT when a call or interaction enters, trigger a DB Store Procedure which will store this into a DB table, and you the recollect this info.
May not be a āreal timeā but can helpā¦if you have a high call flow info can be very continuous.
Also, why not prompt the EWT using a voice guide instead of web?
It sounds really strange. Iāve never heard about any per concurrent user license from Genesys. And I tried to get such one in the past because it would fit our needs and was told there is no way.
I would definitely āpressā Genesys to explain why you canāt use Wallboard Connector license or at worse Enterprise Connector license (per site, costs $$$$$$ but not milions).
Are you in contact with Genesys directly or with a Genesys partner?
Take a look at this page - http://www.genesyslab.com/storage/legal/sdk/. It explains what is and what isnāt allowed with Genesys SDKs.
Thanks a Million buddy,
I can nail them down now looking at link and at Integ G we just require Wall board Connector License which we have
We are working thru a reseller Guess they wanted to take us for as ride
Thanks again and if we meet I owe you Lunch
